Just behind the town is the City Express gondola which operates all year round. It takes up approximately one third on the way up the Schmittenhohe.

You get a good view looking East over the town and lake, as we glide up to the higher station.

Just above the higher station there is a smaller lake. To the south we can see the Kitzsteinhorn which towers over Kaprun.

Looking the other way we can see our route up to the summit of the Schmittenhohe. Not all of the chairlifts operate in the summer.

In the meadows we can find alpine flowers.

The middle building is the higher station for the City Express. Some of the alpine restaurants close for the summer.
