23rd July 2006 - Sumatran Tiger Cubs - Paignton Zoo
On May 12th, two Sumatran Tiger cubs were born at the zoo to Tenang and Banda. The male cub is called Topan and the female Kirana. I took these images shortly after the keepers allowed the cubs to explore their new enclosure.
Mum Banda was allowed to stay in the enclosure to look after her cubs. Dad Tenang had to be separated to ensure the cubs safety.

The cubs stayed at the back of the enclosure, so I needed a long lens!

Sadly Topan had a heart condition and died at the Zoo in December.
