The 500m track or runway was set up right infront of the Hoe.
The three capsized boats, Aleph, Team Korea and Green Comm Racing, together with Atrimis Racing who retired with equipment problems are not taking part in the speed trial.
This leaves 5 ac45's - Emirates Team New Zealand are first.
The westerly wind is increasing all the time as they run down the track.
There is a tight turn close to Mountbatten breakwater just after the finish mark.
Second to run is Oracle 4 Spithill.
The bow ploughs into the waves and the ac45 veers 90 degrees off track.
Oracle 4 keeps upright! but does not finish the course.
Next to run is Oracle 5 Coutts.
Yesterday's sped trial winner, Coutts reaches the finish line intact.
China Team are next to run.
Finally Energy Team who are caught by a gust of wind right at the start infront of Tinside Lido.
Amazingly Energy Team stay upright, but retire from this run in the speed trail.
Emirates Team New Zealand start their second run.
Followed by Oracle 4 Spithill.
Oracle 4 Spithill misses the start line and retires.
Next to run is Oracle 5 Coutts.
Oracle 5 Coutts is averaging speeds of 29.84 miles per hour or 25.92 knots, and is taking 37.48 seconds to run the 500m track.
Another fast run by Oracle 5 Coutts.
Energy Team attempt their second run.
