Walking out onto the headland and rocks towards Towan Head gives a great view across the course. There was an overcast sky which left cold and damp conditions. The strong onshore breeze created a 5ft chest height swell. The Zapcats are propelled into the air as they meet the sets of incoming waves. It is a beach start, crews struggle to hold the Zapcats against the incoming swell. The beach drops into deep water quite quickly. Yellow bouys mark the course, this one is close to shore. The Zapcats "surf" the incoming waves.
