13th June 2014 - Moonrise over Looe.

For the first time in around 100 years theres a full moon on Friday 13th during the month of the summer solstice.

Rising in the South East, the moon is very low and big in the sky.

June's full moon is called the honey moon because of all the full moons of the year, it is the one most likely to glow yellow throughout the night.

I was surprised how quickly the moon rose above the horizon, rising over White Rock, this was taken from Pennylands West Looe.

It is Friday the 13th as the champagne-colored full moon appears in the sky, a celestial event that has not occurred in almost a century.

The "Honey Moon," as the June full moon is known, fell on the unlucky day for the last time in 1919.
